Soft broom for hardwood floors11/14/2023 The good news is you save money and time with a reduced/altered cleaning schedule. You are working on over-cleaning your hardwood and that can lead to failure very very quickly. You are better off getting a hardwood floor cleaner (as recommended by the hardwood floor manufacturer) with a proper applicator. Swiffers are not allowed with hardwood (even their hardwood floor cleaning system is suspect). If you multiply that by 4 WEEKS then you have "cleaner" being used as much as 8 TIMES per month. If you compare your "swiffer cleaning" schedule to my schedule, you will notice you are using a "damp cleaning agent" as much as 2 times per WEEK. The "cleaning" will REPLACE the water-damp mop. Sweep/vacuum multiple times per week (1-7 times per week)ġ per WEEK "damp mop" (water damp mop - no cleaner) - very little water.almost dry would be the best description.ġ - 2 per MONTH "cleaning" with a cleaning agent on the mop head Your cleaning regime (with hardwood) should look like this: I mean as much as 8 TIMES too much! That amount of cleaning is OK for tile.but NOT hardwood. You should be using a micro-fibre mop head that you apply the cleaner to the MOP HEAD (not the floor) and then push the mop around.Īnd using a cleaner "a couple of times per week" on hardwood is far too much. or any hardwood surface such as patio decks or interior flooring. They use the "direct spray" method which is NOT something you should do to hardwood. Broom and Squeegee 2 In 1-Rubber Bristles easily gather up dust, hair, paper scrapes on. I will make a quick suggestion as to the swiffer products: please don't use them on your hardwood.
